Wayfarer Lodgings

Ten cozy, vintage cottages with many modern conveniences, on beautiful grounds, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. A bit of Americana located just minutes from charming Frankfort, picturesque Lake Michigan beaches, and the scenic Betsie River. A short walk through the meadow and down the stairs brings you to the most beautiful, deserted Lake Michigan beach imaginable.

In our fast-paced and ever-changing world, the Wayfarer remains a peaceful spot that has been a favorite for families, couples, and anglers for decades.

Our location, 2 miles south of Frankfort, makes us the perfect place to stay and play as well as venture out for the day.

For our guests with eco-friendly vehicles, we have installed a brand new Tesla charger, as well as an Electric Vehicle (EV) charger.

Fresh Air ~ Stargazing ~ Quiet Spaces ~ Love & Romance ~ Antiquing ~ Fishing ~ Local Charm ~ Down-to-Earth Folks

Wayfarer Lodging

We have been feeling the love as of late. So many folks have showered us with compliments, great reviews and actual presents.
Well today something from a long, long time ago arrived...
It's a long one, but fun to read

"Hello, dear Iris !

We hope you well remember us -- an old Chinese couple who stayed in your beautiful hotel 11 year ago
during our trip driving around Lake Michigan.
It was late in the after noon of September 30, 2006, when we came to the side of Lake Crystal.
We lost ourselves enjoying the beautiful sunset and forgot all about the time. When we left the lake,
it was already dark. We had made no reservation with any hotel. We drove our car on and on, trying
to find a motel. You know, that was the first trip of a 63-year old Chinese couple driving in America!
While driving in the dark night with our eyes wide open searching for a hotel, we suddenly saw light coming
through the trees on our right side and a sign ---WAYFARER LODGINGS!
A hotel ! You can imagine how happy we were.
We were given a warm welcome by the hostess --- the owner of this beautiful motel.
You showed us your hotel which is made of a dozen lovely little cottages, telling us about its history.
We felt very much at home. That night, we slept very well.
We left your hotel on the morning of October 1 --- our National Day. To remember this experience, we took pictures
together. Before leaving, you gave us your E-mail address and we promised to send you the photos when we
get back to Chine. We never forget our promise. But, unfortunately, we had failed many time to put it through to your E-mail
address.
Thanks to my daughter and her husband. They helped us to contact you. We are now in Chicago to visit our daughter's family
I hope you can get the photos and my letter sent from America.
If you've received this letter, please write back to let us know.
Thank you .

Best wishes to you , your family and your lovely motel.

Zhang Pingsheng &
Guan Yuru

P.S. We hope this letter can well reach you ."

Oh the fishing has been so good.
"Point Betsie 129ft. of water off the bank!!! I know that water like the back of my hand!!! Very Nice!!!"

Robert Bo ZielinskiLake Michigan Giant!

Last night we boated this master angler level behemoth several miles off the NW Michigan coastline. He tipped the official harbor scales at 33.5 lbs even after dehydrating on the deck of the boat for quite some time, as the fish was far too large to cram into the livewell. It's measurements were 40.5" x 28"

Indeed a lifetime catch for many a Great Lakes angler. The best part- it was all captured on video! From strike, to net, to weigh in.
